3 Man Passing | Lacrosse | POWLAX

The 3 Man Passing Drill works on stick skills and clearing communication. The players will run 3 patterns 3 times.

Pattern 1: Out, In, Out, In. The inside line will throw out after the outside lines yell “Right” or “Left”. The outside lines will throw inside when the inside player yells “Redirect” or “Right Back”. Once the players traverse the field an outside line and the middle line will switch. After 3 reps, all players should hit all spots.

Pattern 2: Out, Over, In. The inside line will throw out after the outside lines yell “Right” or “Left”. The off-ball outside player will yell “Over” and receive an over pass. The Inside player will yell “Redirect” or “Inside” to receive a pass from the outside player. The same outside player that just threw the ball inside will yell “Right Back” and receive a give and go from the middle player and then throw over in the other direction. Once the players traverse the field an outside line and the middle line will switch. After 3 reps, all players should hit all spots.

Pattern 3: Weave. The inside line will throw to either outside line once they get a little bit upfield and yell “Head Man”. Players will run behind the player who caught their ball and then sprint upfield trying to get ahead of the ball. The new ball carrier will turn inside and pass to the player on the farside who will yell “Headman” as well. The players will run the weave 3-4 times depending on which side of the field you’d like them to finish on.
